Science Equipment - Apparatus

Your teacher will show you where the equipment is stored in the classrrom.

The equipment used for experiments is called apparatus.

Collect an apparatus worksheet and fill in the missing names of the apparatus.

Safely using the Bunsen Burner

Watch your teacher safely setting up and lighting the bunsen burner.

Your turn! Follow these steps to safely set up and use the Bunsen Burner.

  1. Put on safety specs.
  2. Set up the apparatus as shown in the picture below.
  3. Half fill the beaker with water.
  4. Light the Bunsen, turn to the silent blue flame. Once the condensation has cleared turn to the roaring flame.
  5. Heat until water boils then switch off.
  6. Wait for equpment to cool before putting away.
